About Marshall Orthopaedics

Marshall Orthopaedics was founded by Dr. Doug Duncan upon his arrival in Marshall in 1985.  We have been in our current offices since 1988.

We are a general orthopaedic clinic, dealing mostly with joint replacements, arthroscopy, hand surgery, shoulder surgery, sports medicine, and fractures.  We do not do spine surgery, since this requires specialized training and skills that are best left to larger medical communities.

Our goal is to make sure that you get the best care for your injury.  We are continuously working to make sure that your experience with us is pleasant and efficient, and that the most modern, up to date techniques are used to treat your orthopaedic problem.

Of course, if we think that your problem is too complex to handle in Marshall, we refer you right away to a super-specialist in Dallas, Shreveport, or Tyler.  We have very good working relationships with many super-specialists in our area.

We accept most commercial insurance, Medicare, and Medicaid.  We are providers for Blue Cross.  If you have no insurance coverage, we will be glad to work out a payment plan for you.

Our doctors work only at Marshall Regional Medical Center.

Our office is open from 9 am to 4 pm Monday through Thursday, and 9 am until noon on Friday.  We are closed for major holidays, of course, but one of our doctors is always on call.

We are very active in sports medicine in our area.  We serve as team physicians for Marshall High School and for East Texas Baptist University.

Since we see office patients, emergency cases, and perform surgery, our days are very busy.  Often, our schedules do not go as planned because of emergency situations.

We appreciate very much your understanding when this happens.
